FAQ
Everything you need to know about our 3D printed lampshades, table lamps and home accessories — designed and hand-printed in Cumbria, UK. If your question isn't here, message us and we'll reply within 24 hours.
Products & fitment
Will your lampshades fit my existing ceiling fitting?
Yes. Our shades fit any standard UK ceiling fitting and come with additional washers to allow fitment to any existing bulb fitting — so they'll slide straight over your current pendant or bulb fitting with no rewiring required.
This includes standard E27 (screw) and B22 (bayonet) ceiling roses, as well as most non-standard fittings via the supplied washers.
Do I need a special bulb?
Our shades must be used with LED bulbs only. Because the shades are made from eco-friendly PLA (a plant-based plastic), they should not be used with halogen, incandescent or other heat-producing bulbs, which can warp or damage the shade.
LED bulbs run cool, use less energy, and last far longer — so this is the standard choice for modern lighting anyway. Any standard E27 or B22 LED bulb from a supermarket or hardware shop will work.
Do your table lamps come ready to plug in?
Yes. All of our table lamps come fitted with a UK plug, ready to use straight out of the box. Just add a standard E27 or B22 LED bulb and plug in.
What size are your lampshades?
Dimensions vary by design and are listed on each individual product page. Most of our pendant shades sit between 20–30 cm in diameter or height. If you're unsure whether a particular shade will suit your space, message us with a photo of the room and we'll give you our honest opinion.
What are your products made from?
All of our lampshades, table lamps and home accessories are 3D printed from eco-friendly PLA — a plant-based, biodegradable bioplastic made primarily from corn starch or sugarcane. Unlike traditional plastics, PLA is renewable, low-impact, and recyclable through industrial composting.
Each piece is printed by us in Cumbria, designed in collaboration with Lunfardo Lab.
Can I order a custom colour?
Yes — we love custom orders. We can print most of our designs in colours that aren't listed as standard. Just message us with the design and colour you have in mind and we'll let you know what's possible and confirm the price and timing.
How do I clean and care for my shade?
Wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth. Avoid water, solvents and abrasive cleaners. Do not submerge.
Because the shades are made from PLA, avoid leaving them in direct sunlight for prolonged periods or near sources of strong heat.
